At the Sons and Daughters of Italy – Garibaldi Lodge, giving is at the heart of who we are. Rooted in the generous spirit of Italian culture and our commitment to community service, we proudly support a wide range of charitable organizations across Manitoba. Whether through our Annual Gala or year-round initiatives, we strive to make a meaningful impact—locally and beyond.
Our Impact
Over the past 15 years, our Lodge has donated more than $1,000,000 to charitable causes. That’s an average of over $10,000 per member, reflecting the strength and generosity of our small but mighty group.
Where the Funds Go
- 65% to general Manitoba charities
- 25% to Italian community organizations
- 10% to scholarships and individuals in need
We don’t just give—we give with purpose, reach, and heart.
Annual Charity of Choice
Each year, we select one major organization as our Charity of Choice, receiving a significant donation during our Annual Gala. This is our flagship giving opportunity, but it’s far from the only one.
We also support many other charities throughout the year—some repeatedly, some for the first time.

If you are seeking a donation, sponsorship, grant, or ticket/table purchase, we welcome your request. Please begin by completing our Grant Request Form.
Application Guidelines:
- All requests must begin with a completed and signed Grant Request Form.
- Include any supplementary information that helps us understand your need.
- Submit your request at least 6 weeks in advance—our review process takes 6 to 10 weeks.
